Every almost-spring, fields of brilliant yellow mustard flowers bloom all over wine country. Lindsay wanted photos of her whole family while her parents were in town, so we tromped into a muddy field and took these awesome photos in a blink. I love the vibrant colors! All those yellow blooms, bright blue sky, green fields and the fantastic color of Lindsay’s dress and lipstick. She doesn’t look like someone whose baby was keeping her up all night! This whole family could be models, don’t you think?!
The mustard (which is planted in some vineyards to help feed the soil, and grows wild in other places around Sonoma and Napa counties) blooms from around late January till early March. It’s our wine country version of foliage, and I’m so happy to see it every year – as it means spring is coming!!
