I’ve been photographing Beth and Geoff’s family since their wedding (an all-time favorite of mine!) at Kunde, and was delighted when they asked me to do their 2022 holiday portrait at their vacation house in Tahoe City! I’m always happy to travel for photo shoots, and this was the perfect excuse to bring my family.
Although Beth had initially envisioned an autumnal-looking shot in the mountains, we unexpectedly got a ton of fresh snow (in early November!), so adapted and embraced the snow and a more wintry portrait look. I love how the colors they chose to wear pop against all of that beautiful white snow (and that they let Freddy choose his favorite space-themed sweatshirt).

It was a perfect morning for a cold, snow family portrait! We had a blast, and lucked out enormously in that we had lots of soft snow, but didn’t get stuck or snowed in. It absolutely does not snow here in Santa Rosa, so getting to share a weekend full of the most beautiful falling snow with my family – and with these fantastically cute people too! – was a dream.
I’d love to do more Tahoe family portraits – engagements, weddings, etc – anytime I can! Please contact me if you’re interested!
PS – Beth has long reminded me of Snow White, wouldn’t you agree?
