San Francisco Engagement Shoot, Rileigh & Michael

Rileigh and Michael, San Francisco Engagement Portraits

Rileigh and Michael are engaged! They wanted to do their engagement photo shoot at the Palace of Fine Arts, and I suggested we finish the session at sunset on the beach at Crissy Field. They were so game, easy-going and delightful, even when I was seat-of-my-pants forging a new path down to the water… and the wind was blowing… and the sun going down… they were nothing by smiles and joy.

I’m looking forward to photographing their wedding this summer, and revisiting their sweetness and delight in being with each other. Usually wedding days fly by, and often the couple portraits are squeezed into chunks of just 15-20 minutes throughout the day, which is why I recommend doing an engagement session whenever possible. It’s a chance to do a slice-of-life shoot, to capture the two of you at this unique moment in time, before the pace of married life and future families picks up. I look back at the photos of my partner and I from throughout our years before marriage and parenthood, and the images transport me back to who we were then, and I both yearn and cringe at those younger, more innocent versions of ourselves. But, in a good way 😉
