about the photographer:

I shoot portraits, weddings, musicians, stock, editorial, promos, and more.
born 6th-generation san franciscan and raised in sonoma county, california, I graduated from bennington college in vermont in 2000 with a BA in photography and directing before moving back to the sf north bay.

I use both deliberation and spontaneity to create compelling, artistic, unique imagery. my work has a classic feel to it, and my style is fun as well as sophisticated.

I capture peoples' natural but evocative expressions so that there is honesty to the photograph in addition to intrigue. I try to draw out my subjects, making the experience of being photographed enjoyable, as well as yielding beautiful, natural results.

I am available for hire for portrait, editorial, music, advertising and wedding/ event photography. my stock archive is represented nationally and internationally by workbookstock and ibid photography; you may also inquire directly to me about usage of any image you see on my website or elsewhere.

I love to travel and am happy to quote you for travel arrangements to anywhere you can dream up. I've shot weddings in portland, seattle, and all over california, and look forward to expanding to include the entire west coast (as well as new york city, the eastern seaboard, hawaii, and every in between).
